Teaching Responsibilities
Presently teaching Advanced Foods, Foods and Nutrition, and Hotel and Travel Services in addition to Drivers' Education during the summer. Course taught include Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Advanced Foods, Independent Living, People Behavior and Relationships, Medical Careers, and Psychology for Living.
Professional Accomplishments
Also taught faculty courses on beginning through advanced PowerPoint, scanning and screen capture using Snag-It software, and Dreamweaver.
Website liaison for Family and Consumer Science Department which includes training department members on software and technology, maintaining and developing department website, and development of technology plan, goals, and budget.
District website liaison which includes creating and updating all department web pages.
Curriculum Responsibilities
Co-developed curriculum for Hotel and Travel Services Course which received national recognition. Annually reviewing curriculum for foods and hospitality sequence.
Model Classroom Teacher
Responsible for maintenance of 8 classroom computers, training and assisting department with technology issues, integration of technology, and troubleshooting hardware problems.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Coached girls' volleyball, track and soccer from 1985 - 1994. Worked as timer, book, or chaperone for basketball, wrestling, volleyball, swimming, football, track, and gymnastics events. Chairperson for sports night which organized physicals for freshmen-junior athletes and hosted keynote speakers from the Chicago Bears.
