About
Me |
| Background |
I was born and raised in Pekin, IL.
After graduating high school, I attended Illinois State University for
four years. During the summers, I was a camp counselor at the Pekin Park
day camp. After graduating from ISU, I married my high school sweetheart
and moved to Bloomington.
When my husband found a job in Champaign, we excitedly moved to
Champaign. After all my experience in summer camps, I found my perfect
summer job directing and planning Urbana Park District's Teen Camp. I
also joined the Tolono Unit 7 school district, first as a reading
improvement teacher and then a second grade teacher. |

| Why I Love to Teach |
The reasons that I want to teach change
as my experiences vary. I have always been a very sympathetic person who
worried about those who were defenseless or unable to protect
themselves. Underdogs always have my vote of confidence just because no
one else will believe in them. When asking myself why I wanted to teach,
I came to the realization that children are often the most defenseless
underdogs. If anyone needs encouragement and support, it is children.
As I have more experiences teaching, I have also came to the
understanding that the students offer me encouragement and support. I
did not realize that while I was helping the students grow and learn
that they would be doing the same for me. |

| Life Ambition |
| My life ambition is very simple. I want
to grow as an individual and as an educator. I think that life is a
continuous process of knowing oneself. My hope is never stop learning
from the students and my fellow teachers. |
