Cochran is a rural farming community in middle Georgia.  Peaches and peanuts as well as cotton are main crops.  Lithonia Lighting, the world's largest manufacturer of fluorescent light fixtures has a large factory here.  The country's oldest junior college, Middle Georgia College, established in 1884, is located in Cochran.  One of our local doctors, Dr. Roberts, is the person who invented the personal computer and hired Bill Gates to work for him. Dr. Roberts later sold the business and went to medical school.  Cochran's population is about 8,000.  We are located 40 miles southeast of Macon./
