The Botanist: Understand the life cycle of the Theobroma cacao tree which is the source of chocolate. Where does it grow? Is there more than one kind of cacao tree? What are the differences? And more.... Use the sites below as resources :


The Scientist: Learn the process for making chocolate from cacao bean to chocolate bar. What types of chocolate are there? What makes them different? What is added that is not part of the cacao tree? Do these additions make chocolate more or less healthy? And more.... Use these webs sites for your research:


The Historian: Document the history of chocolate. When was it first discovered? Was it considered important in ancient societies and why? Explore myths that exist telling us chocolate is not good for us? Are they true? And more.... Below are web sites to help you with your exploration:

All Team Members: Collaborate as a team sharing your findings. Using each team members findings answer the question: What makes chocolate good for you and why? Create a power point presentation or a digital video clip presenting your findings and conclusions about chocolate and it's health benefits if any.
