Ron Folkens

About me:

I am a Special Education Teacher, PE Teacher, Technology Coordinator, and Single Credit Coordinator at the Regional Alternative School. I teach three Special Education Math classes, a Special Education Science class, a PE class for regular and special ed students, and I am a mentor for students who participate in classes through Illinois Virtual High School. As the Technology Coordinator I am responsible for the purchasing, maintanence, and repair of the technology at the Regional Alternative School. As the Single Credit Coordinator I am responsible for the students who take single credit classes as well as Virtual High School classes. I graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2001 and have been working at the Alternative School since. Currently I am also enrolled in a certificate program at Heartland Community College with the goal of obtaining Microsoft certification.  I am looking forward to taking Classes at U of I and increasing my knowledge of technology in education.
