Welcome to the "Lots of Limericks" network project home page!!  Here, you will find a complete project description, as well as links to definitions and explanations of limericks, examples of limericks, and a collection of original student limericks.   Please read on for a complete project description and timeline, or, choose one of the above links to help you get started. 

Project Description

Who??:  This project is appropriate for students between the ages of 6 and 19.

What??:  "Lots of Limericks" is a network project designed to encourage the study of limericks.  This project also incorporates the arts as students get the opportunity to create original            illustrations for their original limericks.  Finally, email technology is incorporated as the            student-created limericks and illustrations are sent to my class, and posted on this site in the limerick collection.

Your Job:  As a participant in this project, your job is vital.  The end result for all participants will hopefully be the same:   original student-created limericks and illustrations sent to my             class to be posted on this site.  However, considering the age range encompassed with the             project, the process can be tailored to each participants' needs.  There are certain aspects             of the project that should be consistent for all involved.

• Provide background information on and examples of limericks.  Links are provided on this site, or the local library will have information.

• Ensure that all illustrations are able to be sent and received through email. Illustrations can either be created using software, or can be drawn on paper and scanned into a digital picture.

• Enforce due dates.   A project timeline is provided below.  Make sure all work is finished and emailed by the project end date.

My Job:  As the project coordinator, I will be keeping in contact with participants regarding completion dates.  I will also forward ideas to all participants concerning how others are            tailoring this project to fit their needs.  Finally, my class and I will be consistently updating           this site with new information and, of course, new original limericks.
