Welcome

Welcome to my e-portfolio, and thank you for taking the time to look through it.  My name is Jill Jones and with this portfolio, I have tried to create a significant collection of artifacts to showcase my growth as an educator and as a student over the past seven years.

First, I would like to point out the components of the site.  To the left, you will notice a menu bar consisting of five links.  These links will appear throughout the pages of this site.  By clicking on the “Welcome” button, you will always end up at this page.  The link titled “Personal” includes information about my personal life as well as reflections of my time spent teaching in the Taylorville school district and as a student in the CTER program.  The “Resume” link will take you to my resume, my classroom management plan, my most recent professional evaluation, a sample weekly lesson plan, and the communications curriculum that I developed for my classroom.  The “CTER Projects” link provides four additional links to other projects that I’ve completed in my Master’s Program of which I am proud.  Finally, the “Life in the Classroom” link consists of my classroom website, an example of putting classbooks on-line, and some sample student work.  Occasionally, a link will take you outside of this site, but wherever you are, a link is provided to return.  All in all, I hope I have included something for everyone.

All of my life, I have wanted to teach.  I can remember the excitement of my very first day in my own classroom.  The minute the students walked in the door, I realized I had much left to learn.  Every year that I teach, I get better at something.  Every year there is something on which to improve.  Creating this e-portfolio has given me the opportunity to reflect on what I know as well as what I want to know.  Thank you for allowing me to share my professional life with you.  I have included a link to a comments or suggestion form on the Welcome page.  I would appreciate any remarks you may have concerning this site.  Enjoy!!
