Welcome

My name is Jill Jones. I live in Blue Mound, Illinois with my husband, Chris. Blue Mound is a close-knit farming community in central Illinois. My family moved to this area of the world in 1800 and we have been living and working here ever since.

I attended elementary and high school in Blue Mound, graduating from Blue Mound High School in 1992. I went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1996. In 2003, I earned my Master's Degree in the Curriculum, Technology, and Education Reform (CTER) program, also offered through the University of Illinois.

In August, 1996, I secured a Reading Aide position at West School in Taylorville, Illinois. The following year, I was hired within TCUSD#3, as a 5th grade teacher at North School. After one year at North School, I was relocated back to West School where I have been teaching 5th grade for the past five years.

I have learned and experienced much over the past seven years as an educator. Experiences inside and outside of the classroom have shaped who I am as an educator, a learner, and a person. Please click one of the following links to view a reflection of my time spent in the Taylorville school system or as a CTER student.
