Professional Teaching Standards
9. Collaborative Relationships: The teacher understands the role of the community in education and
develops and maintains collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents/guardians,
and the community to support student learning and well-being.
For this standard, I have included an article critique
which I created for Special Education 205. In this critique, I demonstrate
my knowledge that regular education teachers must cooperate with special
educators, the school faculty, the school district, the child's family, and
many other people in order to come up with a suitable IEP for the child.
Collaboration is key to providing the best accomodations for students
with special needs.
