Objectives: Students will learn to use various textbooks, technology sites, and software to research and write independently and collaboratively.

Prerequisite Skills: Microsoft Word, Internet search engines (such as yahoo, google, askjeeves, etc.),

Materials Needed: College Prep required textbooks, Microsoft Word 95 or newer and at least one floppy disk, access to Internet, current e-mail, access to library

State Standards Met Through This Unit

Summary of the Lesson: Students will use the tabs at the top of the screen to navigate their way through this tutorial on how to write a research paper, using online and offline tools and textbooks.. After reading various instructions and completing reflective exercises, the students will write, proofread, revise, and "publish" their own research papers, using both independent and collaborative strategies.
