Mr. Tim Aures

Family

I have one daughter, Elizabeth, who is in eleventh grade.

My wife Karen is a home-school counselor with the Rockford School District.

Education

I graduated from Western Illinois University (undergraduate) and St Xavier University (graduate).

I've taught middle school math (pre-algebra and algebra) for 25 years, high school math for 1 year, and worked with staff development and curriculum for 5 years.

This is my ninth year teaching math in the gifted program.

Hobbies & Activities

I love sports - especially the White Sox (not the sCrUBS)!!! College basketball is great – Go Illini!!! Playing golf when there's time is very relaxing, when I play well.

I love reading a good book in the summer or on vacation.

I enjoy playing board games, cards, and messing around on the computer. Our family spends much time involved with our church. I enjoy having my alone time every morning.

Oddities
I am strictly a morning person, up by 6:00 a.m. every day (even in the summer). I love cold weather - Give me 20 degrees over 90 degrees any day of the week!
Shoveling snow is great!!  Who needs a snow blower or a plow???

I like to do household chores, like laundry, dishes, and even vacuuming!!

Breakfast is my favorite meal, but I’ll eat most anything that is put in front of me.  I like neighborhood restaurants better than franchises.

I also enjoy listening to music, talk radio, and staying current with the news.

I love teaching math!!!!
