I am presently a music teacher and band instructor with Springfield School District 186. I have taught in this district for 3 years, but prior to that, was a band director in the Springfield Catholic Schools for 17 years. I am assigned to Wilcox School where I teach general music in grades 1-5 and have been a member of their Technology Design Team. I am also assigned to Iles School, the district's magnet school for the gifted, where I teach band to 3rd though 5th graders.
I am a graduate of Quincy University, where I obtained a B.S. in Music Education and of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I obtained a Master of Education in Curriculum, Technology and Education Reform (CTER).
My husband and I live in Springfield, IL with our three boys who are very active in sports. When I am not busy attending one of their sporting events, I keep busy singing and playing in the church choir, playing in the Springfield Municipal Band, and playing or conducting musicals for the Springfield Muni Opera. I am also the official orchestra director for the Roxy Group, a local theatre group that produces "concert musicals."

In teaching you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years. ~Jacques Barzun
