Instructions:
- Email the Coordinator
to express interest in participating.
- Click on the
lessons about sound production in the menu if working individually
or teach a unit on sound production if working with a class.
- Visit the
related sites for inspiration on what can be built using new or
recycled materials. Or, visit the library and find books on making
instruments.
- Plan your
instrumental invention/ find materials to work with/ begin
building.
- Keep a
journal along the way to keep track of how you built your
instrument and problems you experienced.
- Take photos
of your progress.
- Name your
instrument something unique.
- Photograph
the final product, write your step by step instructions for
building it, instructions for how to play it, and email them along
with the photos to Dia
Langellier.
Please include your first name and age, as well as your school and
it's location. If you don't have a digital camera, email the
instructions and a request for snail mail address.
- If technology
allows, you may also send a 5 second iMovie as a sound clip.
- This project
will run through May 2003. Photos and instructions will be posted
at this site.
