Philosophy of Education
Education is the foundation of this great country. It is what allows our citizens to grow, prosper, and succeed. As an educator, I am establishing my own philosophy of education. I am establishing my own goals and hopes as a teacher.
My broad goals as an educator are to instill a sense of appreciation in my students. I want to build an appreciation for knowledge, an appreciation for other people, and an appreciation for the individual within my students. In education, it is important to focus on respect and the presence of the community in the classroom. Before learning can take place, students must learn to respect others and accept the classroom community into their lives. Students must also learn to respect the individual inside of them.
In a world where the importance of education continues to grow, my hope would be to see each student complete high school. Ultimately, I would love to see all my students go on to college, but my hopes start with high school. Education is crucial for success, and I want each and every child to understand the importance of a good, strong education in life.
My
philosophy of education is founded on the belief that every child can
succeed. No matter what ethnicity,
religion, socio-economic status, race, or disability, every child should have
the equal opportunity to receive a quality education. I believe in the slogan, “Never give
up.” I will never give up on a
child. Students should have equal access
to knowledge, and it is my goal to see that all children are given an equal
opportunity to learn. If I stay on
track, and never give up, as a teacher, I can expand their minds, character,
and overall, who they are and will become.
