The HTML editing tool that I chose to use it Macromedia Dreamweaver. It was part of the Macromedia Studio. Dreamweaver allows the user to edit and create websites using HTML, strictly design, or both through the code, design, and split views. This a huge advantage of Dreamweaver over other free HTML editors, including NVU by Mozilla.

The cost of Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 is $399 and the entire Studio is $999, according to Adobe.com. There are free html editors out there, however Dreamweaver is the industry-leading web development tool. The majority of web design professionals use the Macromedia Studio, which also includes Flash, Fireworks, Contribute, and FlashPaper.

There is a pretty large learning curve to Dreamweaver. It is not a program that an individual new to web design could learn easily without training. I definitely think it is worth the cost and time, both to purchase and to learn, if someone plans on creating more than just a very basic html site.
