Believe it or not, I got my start as a teacher here at Good Old, Rankin Elementary School in Rankin, Illinois in 1984. A lot of things about being a teacher, as well as being a student have changed since then. Looking back, I think that those were some of my most trying times as a teacher. I was the new teacher in a small town and didn’t really know what I was doing a lot of the time. After a great deal of trial and error, I think I’ve become a better teacher and hopefully, a better person from the experiences I’ve gained these past 19 years. Below, you will find links in which I provide a few of the thoughts and ideas about teaching that have come to me over the past two decades, as well as a few newer twists I have tried to use in my teaching in more recent years.
