Field observation at Jefferson Middle School in Champaign, IL Spring 2003 As a part of the teacher education program, I observed two middle school science classes and two middle school math classes.  I had the opportunity to present an original lesson plan covering the coordinate plane during one 40-minute period.  In addition, I aided the teacher in the classroom and during planning periods, attended team meetings, and helped grade student homework/tests.
Field observation at Urbana High School in Urbana, IL Fall 2002 As a part of my teacher education program, I observed two periods of a high school Algebra 2 class.  During the planning period in between those classes, I discussed lesson planning, grading, and other relevant teaching issues with the host teacher.
Tutor at Champaign Central High School in Champaign, IL Fall/Winter 2001 In one classroom, I helped at-risk kids complete homework assignments in math courses as well as other subjects.  In another classroom, I helped ESL kids complete similar assignments.  Being relatively proficient in Spanish, I was able to communicate with those students who had a more difficult time speaking and understanding English.
Retreat Leader for St. Thomas Of Villanova High School Youth Group in Palatine, IL Spring 2002, 2003 I have been an adult leader on numerous retreats for the St. Thomas of Villanova High School Youth Group.  Those experiences have helped me to further develop my leadership qualities and cooperative group skills and have contributed to my spiritual growth.
