What Kerin Does

    After teaching 3rd grade in Galesburg, IL for three years, Kerin's husband was transfered to the Chicago suburbs.  For the past 5 years Kerin has been a teacher at Park View Elementary School in Glen Ellyn, IL.  After one year of teaching 3rd grade she was moved to 5th grade where she believes she's found her true calling. The fifth grade team departmentalizes their Science, Social Studies, and Writing curriculum, with Kerin teaching the Science.  Flexible grouping is used to provide the greatest opportunity for student growth during Reading.  Each of the three 5th grade teachers instructs her own homeroom in Math.  
 
   You can easily find Kerin at work on several curriculum committees, including a math leadership team and a science curriculum pilot team.  She has been tapped to present at Quality workshops with her principal as well as help write the School Improvement Plans for the past several years.
