The Project
c World
McDonalds is a fast food restaraunt
that is familiar to much of the world. McDonalds was started by
Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernadino, California, USA in 1954.
Ray Kroc, a milk shake mixer salesman began opening McDonalds
restaraunts in 1955. A lot has changed over the past 51 years and his first store is now a McDonalds museum.
McDonalds stores are now operating in many countries across the
world. Our question is, are McDonalds all the same? What
can McDonalds tell us about people, places, and the world?
This networking project is being conducted to find the similarities and
differences between McDonalds Restaraunts across the globe. We
are interested in a variety of data that you can share about your local
McDonalds. We are looking to conduct math, economic, and cultural
studies. We will present the data on this website for all parties
to share and use to conduct research on a variety of subjects.
Some info we would like to collect...
- How many McDonalds stores are in your town? How many are in a 5 and 10 mile radius?
- Where is your McDonalds located?
- How much does a BigMac cost? How much does a large order of fries cost?
- Does your McDonalds have a Happy Meal? If so, what is the toy prize?
- What are other menu items offered? Are there any unique menu items? What is the cost?
- Are there any special attractions at your McDonalds?
- Does your McDonalds have a drive-thru? Outdoor seating?
- What is the maximum occupancy?
- Do you see advertisements for McDonalds? Where? What do they say?
- What different languages do you find in your McDonalds?
- How often do you go to McDonalds?
- Poll your class or friends; what are your favorite fast food restaraunts?
- Is there anything else you would like to share about McDonalds?
- What did you learn from this project and what are you planning on doing with the data collected?

when you have collected the information listed above, organize the
data and email it to projectmcworld@gmail.com
All information will be posted to this
site, your pictures are welcome, too. As you work with the
data that is collected, send us a link to your
project to share with others working on the Project
McWorld, as well. Thank you for your
time and we look forward to meeting and working with
you!
