Welcome!
This portfolio is a collection of my graduate work in Curriculum
Technology and Educational Reform (CTER) at the University of Illinois
at Urbana Champaign.
About Me
I am in my third year of teaching and have taught at all three
middle schools in Champaign Unit 4. I taught Spanish at Edison
and Franklin Middle Schools for the 2004-2005 school year and have just
finished my first year teaching social studies at Jefferson Middle
School on the Islands team. I feel at home teaching social
studies at Jefferson, and now that I am comfortable with the curriculum, I would like enrich the lessons. I am
looking forward to working on my masters degree in the CTER program at
the University of Illinois and I hope to use what I learn to better
integrate technology into the curriculum.
After graduating from Lockport Township High School in 1999, I
came to Urbana-Champaign to attend the University of Illinois. I
graduated over 2 years ago, but the town grew on me and it has been home for
me for almost 8 years now. I like being near the University, even though
I could complete this program from anywhere in the world. My distant
plans do include moving back to the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago and possibly earning a Phd some day.
