| About myself: My name is Jack Adwell. After nearly twenty years in business management I decided to go back to college to get a degree in information technology. Upon completion, I was offered a teaching position at Richland Community College, in Decatur, Illinois, where I have just finished my eighth year. My concentration is in computer networking, network administration and system's analysis. I also teach several Microsoft applications courses (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher). I enrolled in this program because I wanted to learn new ways of integrating technology into the learning experience, and with this ePortfolio, I have started that journey. I am married to a wonderful lady, Rebecca, who is also a teacher, and has been my inspiration to pursue this dream . Rebecca is the science coach for District 61 schools in Decatur and has been the director of the Prairie Flowers Science program at UIUC for many years. I have two fantastic children; a daughter who lives in San Francisco and a son who is a medical officer in the Navy and will be receiving his master's from Baylor University this Fall in hospital administration. I also love the wonder and beauty of the universe, which is why I chose this background for my ePortfolio. And in my spare time,...you guessed it, I am working on my Master's degree. |
