Lessons 2-3
A. Class discussion reviews prior knowledge and establishes the context of the lesson content.
B. Problem Solving Scenarios (Lesson 2) – Students will individually design a strategy for an Active Directory structure at Metropolitan Hospital. Students must implement domain, tree, and forest structures and designate the assignment of Master Role servers.
(Lesson 3) – Students will work in lab teams to write a plan to configure sites and subnet objects to optimize replication and ADS performance for OurCompany.com.
C. Test Yourself Questions at the end of the lesson assess content knowledge.
D. Online Lesson Quiz provides the student with multiple opportunities to check their understanding of learning objectives. Quizzes are set to randomize questions so each attempt is different.
E. Lesson Skills are labs in which students work in teams of 2 performing the stated skills on a network server running Windows Server 2003.
F. Lab Reflections are short discussion times following a lab to discuss problems or skills. For Lesson 2 these will be posted in a journal. For Lesson 3 they will design a logical topology of the corp.com network they developed in their labs.
G. Lesson Exam covers learning objectives presented in lesson content and lab skills. There is an exam at the end of each Lesson.

Week 8, 9, 10, & Spring Break
Lessons 4-6
A. Class discussion reviews prior knowledge and establishes the context of the lesson content.
B. Problem Solving Scenarios (Lesson 4) – Students will address replication problems on a network currently using standard zones on DNS servers.
(Lesson 5) – Students will draft a plan of action to use roaming profiles to resolve problems on the network in the scenario.
(Lesson 6) – Lab teams will create a PowerPoint presentation outlining their plan to use “Groups” to resolve the problems of this scenario.
C.Test Yourself Questions at the end of the lesson assess content knowledge.
D.Online Lesson Quiz will focus on terminology. Quizzes are set to randomize questions so each attempt is different.
E. Lesson Skills are labs in which students work in teams of 2 performing the stated skills on a network server running Windows Server 2003.
F. Lab Reflections are short discussion times following a lab to discuss problems or skills. For Lesson 4 each lab team will write their thought of how user accounts can be used to resolve administrative problems. For Lesson 5 they will journal their reflections. For Lesson 6, they will reflect on the many uses of Windows Server 2003 Default Groups.
G. Lesson Exam covers learning objectives presented in lesson content and lab skills. There is an exam at the end of each lesson. |
Week 12, 13, 14, 15
Lessons 7-9
A. Class discussion reviews prior knowledge and establishes the context of the lesson content.
B. Problem Solving Scenarios (Lesson 7) – Students will address file sharing problems on a Windows Server 2003 network and outline a plan to reconfigure three file servers.
(Lesson 8) – Students must address a problem with a domain controller that frequently fails.
(Lesson 9) – Lab teams will create a PowerPoint presentation outlining their plan to use “Organizational Units” to better manage the scenario’s network. The presentation must show the proper order in which the GPO’s will be applied.

E. Lesson Skills are labs in which students work in teams of 2 performing the stated skills on a network server running Windows Server 2003.

For Lesson 7 each lab team will write their thought of how Replication Monitor, Event Viewer, and support tools can be used to troubleshoot Active Directory problems. For Lesson 8 they will journal their reflections. For Lesson 9, they will journal their reflections.
