The Artist The Artist It is not enough to be able to teach it.  I must set an example.  I must produce.  As an art teacher I truly believe one can only teach if one does.  How can I teach about producing art, if I myslef do not produce any.  I have been working as a professional artist for the last three years.  I began simply showing my works locally at art shows and fairs.  Within the last year I have shifted my focus to a much more lucrative commercial approach to my art.  Shortly after September 11th, 2001 I started to focus on my husband's career as a firefighter.  At first the force behind it was simply my own attempt at trying to deal and understand the magnitude of the time I was living in, that was until I began to realize the demand for this type of art.  Since then I have been working at a commissioned Fire Art Artist for local area firemen and have since branched out to working for other departments from all over.  I am pleased that something I find so interesting has also struck a cord for people everywhere.  I invite you to visit both  my fire art gallery as well as my educators gallery which shows the range of my abilities as an artist in realtion to teaching art.
