Welcome to Where in the World Are You? (game) . I appreciate you participating in this telecommunication forum. The schedule for the project is pretty workable, assuming that enough interested teachers register. Starting in September 2001, teachers are welcome to start collaborating with their class to submit information about their city and country.
Some of the information must be kept the same for all participants to make the quiz information about the same for each country. Additional information you would like to include would definitely be appreciated. There will be only one answer submitted per class. You are encouraged to change other aspects to fit your own constraints and goals, such as how your class is going to research the information. Do you want them in groups to do the entire thing, or do you want the groups to each take one stack of information and research it? Please let the rest of the participants know your modifications so we are all aware of what is going on and to share your ideas.
This project will be a quiz about places around the world so students can learn about other countries and different parts of countries from people who really live there. The competition come in when we see whose class will get all the answers correct at the end!
Here is a schedule for you:
January 9, 2002: The information about your region
(city, country) is to be submitted to me (bngkastor@hotmail.com).
February 1, 2002: The quiz will be set up and sent
to all participating classes.
February 28, 2002: The answers to the quiz will be
completed and submitted.
March 13, 2002: The answers will be calculated and
you will know what the answers are and which classes succeeded getting all
the answers correct.
The resources you use will be up to each participating teacher depending on your available resources and what you need to focus on to help your students learn to be affective researchers. You can e-mail me, Ginger Kastor (bngkastor@hotmail.com ), at any time throughout the project for questions and suggestions. I will keep in touch with you via e-mail and will keep you informed as to who is willing to participate.
The following information is required. Any other information you would like to submit would be helpful. Please go to the next pages for the quiz information.
