The sixth grade at Millburn School has done some pretty neat projects. Some of those projects are represented through this page. I mainly teach language arts, reading and social studies. Here are a few examples of the sixth grade lessons. Not all of the units are represented in this web site. Language ArtsLanguage Arts is an important subject because students learn how to communicate effectively in this class. Communication comes in many forms; verbal, non-verbal, and written. ReadingReading is a class that focuses on learning how to become effective readers, comprehend the material and to enjoy different aspects of art through literature. Students explore literature through several different types of units. Social StudiesSixth grade focuses on geography. Learning the five areas of geography help the students understand different cultures around the world. Students learn a lot from the units that help them explore the world. Back to Top |
