This project will use multimedia and video to share student life in the US with Spanish-speaking students in Mexico, a South American location, or Spain.
The American students, who are Spanish language students, will produce videos in Spanish,
and send it via streaming web video to a classroom in a Spanish speaking country.
It is hopeful that the Spanish speaking students will reciprocate.
This project will pilot in Summer of 2001, and will extend into Fall of 2001.

Start Date:  July 1, 2001
Summer Completion Date:  July 31, 2001*
*  The actual posted completion date is November 21.

Subject Areas:  Foreign Language, Technology, Fine Arts, Humanities

Grade Level:  6-12

Participants:  2-4 classrooms

Project Leader:  Kim Fitzer  fitzus@kwom.com

The project will begin with the production of one-four minute video that will share
special aspects of student life in Hinsdale, Illinois.  Students will relate their leisure activities,
their school subjects, special trips they have taken, friends and other pertinent information.
The students, who were enrolled Advanced Placement Spanish last year, will communicate entirely in Spanish.
This video will be compressed for Web transmission, and will be posted on the Project Web Site .
It will also be sent to classrooms willing to participate in this project.
The objective is for there to be a reciprocal project sent back to the US.
Once the project is complete, all videos will be posted on the Project Website.
Participants will be invited to submit new concepts for collaboration.
While this project's registration close date is July 30, it is anticipated that it will continue through Fall of 2001.
