I really enjoyed participating in this project.  First, my students were so excited to be involved.  Every day when my students would arrive to class, they would remind me that we had to check our e-mail.  Second, our use of the smart board to complete the activities was great because everyone could clearly see what was going on.  Last, the students were so motivated that they actively participated  and ended up making deep connections with the cross-curricular concepts that were covered.
Though the experience was positive, it did pose challenges.  First, the short amount of time was limiting.  Ms. Renner's class only met twice a week, so in the two weeks of actual information exchange, she saw her students only four times.  The result was a reduced amount of survey information to accomodate for the time constraint.  Second, my students' background knowledge was insufficient.  The concepts of averaging and distance of foreign countries was a bit over my students' heads.
I am really happy with the success of this project and would like to run it again.  However, in the future, I would run the project for a longer amount of time, enlist participants for more locations, and add more depth in the questions on the survey.  I really like that my students learned about others and themselves by participating in this and look forward to more enriching experiences with students learning to appreciate one another.
