Learn to Love Studying
We've entered a new millennium.
Education nowadays plays a very important role. Without knowledge
it will be impossible to work for the good of the society. A lot
of work will be done by computers and other "clever" machines. People
will work out new ideas, think over the problems impossible for the machine.
I'm sure studying is necessary
for everybody beginning from the early age. I like to study, and I have
always loved it. But I watch my classmates and understand that most
of the students don't like studying. A lot of them think that childhood
and young years should be full of entertainment, rest otherwise life will
be dull, deprived of joy.
I disagree with such point
of view. I think studying can bring joy and entertainment and rest.
Studying is very hard when we hate it and if we don't see the joy in it.
"Love" is the main word in
studying. I've noticed if I love a new English word, I memorize it
better and very quickly. If I have some difficulties for example
in Math, I sit down at the desk and say to myself: "OK Math, I love you
very much; let's work together." Maybe it sounds like a joke, but
I'm sure every school subject has its own attractions; we need only to
find them. It's necessary to find the source of joy, the joy of acquiring
new knowledge.
So, everybody should learn
to love studying. |

The Art of Drawing
Drawing is a special talent
that only some people are blessed with. It's not always the same type of
drawing but its drawing. Say, for instance, me - I draw with line
drawings and some shadowing; others specialize in shading and sketching.
Now, I don't like to make up a drawing, but instead I like to draw cartoon
characters like Dragon Ball Z or Bugs Bunny. Now, to close this statement,
I will say when it comes to drawing I'm your man.

The New Hot Summer Program
Today am going to tell you
about a program that I am in. It is called the Adas Mckinley Upward Bound
program. It is a place where kids in Chicago can to go to camp for a month.
They will go to classes like they would go to in school, but in these classes
they will be getting a head start in the work that they would be doing
in the fall or when school starts.
They have many classes that
you can take on your free time. It is a great place to get a head start
on you schoolwork, and it is a great place to meet new friends. That is
the new hot summer program. |

The Upward Bound Program
and its Effects on Students
I was just introduced
to this program so I don't really know much about it. But I do know that
my older sister was not doing well in high school so my cousin told her
about it. She decided to try
it, and she saw a
lot of improvements in all of her school work.
So, me being the next one
in my family to enter high school, I didn't want to end up like my sister.
So, I took it upon myself to join this program so I could finish high school
with a scholarship in the culinary arts.

The Importance Of School
Yes, many people have suggestions
and opinions on schooling. I believe that there are three categories in
which to put the suggestions: those who attend school point of view, those
who have attended school point of view, and those who have but did not
complete it.
The ones who attend school
now have a better way of explaining it than others because every day they
are faced with problems like peer pressure, clothes, and the way we are
viewed by others. As a senior in high school, to me school was based on
looking good and what happen to whom and when. Now that's just some people's
way of looking at things today. Older people say that we are the
future, and if they could do it over, they would.
The second suggestion is
from the ones who have completed school and set examples for the others.
However, they also had the same thoughts that we had like not going, but
now they have a strong message to give back like hard work pays off. They
were right, and they have now accomplished their goals. However, they still
thought the same as we do now.
Last but not least, we have
the ones who did not complete and don't want others to do so either. They
always have negative comments like school was nothing, how they hated it
and have for years, and how they can go with out it.
So, you be the judge of it
- which one describes you?!!!!

The Upward Bound Program
The Upward Bound Program
is a program during the summer. It helps people get ready for high school
and college and helps you do better in school. This is my first year in
the program, and I am having fun.
At first I didn't want to
come, but now I want to stay. This program gives students the help that
they need while having fun at the same time. I would recommend this program
to anybody I know.

Ada S. Mckinley Upward Bound
Ada S. Mckinley Upward Bound
is a program that helps high school students accomplish their college career.
During the school year they provide tutoring on the weekends. It really
helps if you are having problems in any subject at school. My grades improved
through the school year. During the summer we get to stay on a college
campus and take classes that we will have in our up-coming school year.
On the last week of the summer session, we go on college tours.
