I was born and raised in a small community in Fayette County, Illinois. Throughout high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society, earned several academic awards, and was a member of the Scholar Bowl team. My name appeared in the Who's Who of American High Schools yearbook all four years. I was awarded the honor of being the valedictorian of the class of 1997 of Ramsey High School. After high school, my education continued at Greenville College with a major in Special Education. I have been on the Dean's List every semester, and during my sophomore year, was named an All College Scholar and was asked to join as a charter member of the college's newly established branch of Kappa Delta Pi. During college, I worked at the Ruby E. Dare Library, part time during the school year, and full time during the summers. Now employed as a Special Education teacher by Cowden-Herrick Schools in Shelby County, Illinois, I am continuing my education once again in the form of an Online Masters Program through the University of Illinois. I have always enjoyed working with children. My hope is to be a part of a team that will help children to become the best people that they can be, and to help them fulfill God's plans for their lives.
