Interactive Projects

The following links are examples of student projects infusing technology and Spanish curriculum. Please note that the links will open in a new browser window. To return to this page, please close the new window.

  • Mario the Monkey This web project was designed for students to share information about themselves and about where they live. Participants from India, Australia, and the United States exchanged information about their culture and daily lives. By completing this project, I learned key principles for conducting a web project. First, the project must be planned from beginning to end before it is attempted. Second, during the project, the web site needs continual updating and maintenance. Finally, a teacher must do a great job soliciting participants, such as by using Global Schoolhouse.
  • Spanish Message Boards This link connects with the student directions for Spanish Message Boards. My message boards allow students to contribute written journals addressing a weekly topic. Students also respond to their classmates' submissions. The message board project allowed me to have a well-organized journal system so that students could truly practice written Spanish on a daily basis.
  • Spanish Listening Activities The "Spanish Listening Activities" link is an example of a Spanish class homepage. The page's purpose is to connect students with various listening activities and assessments, as well as to connect students with homework and writing assignments based on these listening activities. By using m3u technology in the listening exercises, I learned how to let my students individually listen to excerpts and to receive immediate progress on their learning.
