Photography I -Black and White/Digital

Course Descrition
This technical course will integrate black and white photography with digital photography . Students will explore the creative and historical forms of photography as they practice learning the technical aspects of working the camera, processing film, printing pictures, and using digital imaging software.
Required Materials
- Lock for locker
- Binder
- Memory Stick (128 mb or higher)
- SLR camera (personal or school owned)
- Students will be supplied with their first 25 pieces of photo paper and two rolls of film. Additional supplies can be purchased from the teacher.
A note about cameras:
An SLR camera is required to be enrolled in this class. If you do not have a camera, then you can purchase one online or at a local camera shop such as Cameraworks, Shewmakers, Wolf Camera or Wal-mart has one SLR camera. An alternative to buying a camera is using one of the school's cameras. Students and parents must fill out the contract, and cameras can be checked out for 24 hour periods.
The photography department has purchased several DigitalSLR cameras for students to use; however, students are welcome to use their own. It is not necessary to purchase a digital camera for this class.
